Reese Image Co. is committed to protecting student and family information. We follow a data minimization and privacy-by-design approach in all school photography operations and partner with secure, industry-standard service providers to deliver photography services responsibly.
Data Minimization
We collect only the information necessary to provide school photography services. This may include:
Student name
Grade and teacher
Student ID number, if provided by the school
Student photograph
In some cases, schools provide parent contact information such as name and email address prior to photo day. This information is used solely to distribute gallery access, provide ordering information, and deliver contracted photography services.
No Sale or Monetization of Data
Student and parent data is never sold, rented, or monetized. Information is used exclusively to provide school photography services, deliver secure galleries, process orders, and fulfill purchased products.
Secure Online Galleries and Ordering
We utilize a secure online gallery and e-commerce platform designed specifically for school photography. The platform uses encrypted data transmission, secure cloud infrastructure, restricted access controls, and PCI-compliant payment processing.
Reese Image Co. does not store full credit card numbers.
Access to student information is limited to authorized personnel and vetted service providers necessary to deliver services, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors, and professional print fulfillment labs. These providers are contractually required to safeguard information and use it only to provide services.
Use of Facial Matching Technology
As part of our standard photo delivery process, we utilize facial matching technology generated solely for internal image matching within the secure platform. Biometric data generated for this purpose:
Is used only to deliver school photography services
Is not sold
Is not used for advertising or behavioral profiling
Is not used to train third-party artificial intelligence systems
Biometric information is retained only as long as necessary to provide contracted services and is handled in accordance with the platform’s published privacy and biometric policies.
Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence
We use professional image processing software to enhance portrait quality through color correction, exposure adjustment, cropping, and retouching.
AI-based tools may be used within secure systems for image enhancement and facial matching. Student images are not sold and are not used to train external AI models.
Images are processed solely to deliver high-quality portraits to families and schools.

Our practices align with applicable federal and Wisconsin privacy laws, including:

Student information is used exclusively for the contracted photography service and not for unrelated marketing or profiling.
Data Retention and Deletion
Student data and images are retained only as long as necessary to provide photography services, fulfill orders, and comply with contractual or legal requirements.
Schools may request deletion of student data at the conclusion of services.
Incident Response
In the event of a confirmed data security incident involving personal information, notification will be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law.
